Winemaking Wine from 890-920m, produced from old, organic, bush-trained garnacha vines. The grapes are hand-picked and  spontaneously fermented with native yeasts in 500L French barrels of different origins and ages. The wine spends 9 months in foudre, steel tanks, and 500L barrels for blending and added élevage. Minimal intervention and SO2.
Pairings This red would pair perfectly with the traditional suckling pig or lamb roasts of the region. You could also pair this with a heartier wild mushroom dish, classic jamon Iberico or chorizo. Get creative with it - have fun!

This  Garnacha is really delicious. All of the grapes come from old bush vines, which produce low yields but highly concentrated grapes. 2019 was a warmer Mediterranean vintage, with above-average heat throughout the season but rainy during the harvest, which brought some relief. However, the high-altitude nature of their vineyards also provided excellent natural acidity to complement fruit intensity. The Pegaso wines are particularly on-point in the 2019 vintage, with incredible balance, freshness, and nuance, showing the varietal character and the texture provided by the granite soils. The 2019 Zeta is layered and precise, and its acidity makes it especially food-friendly. On the nose and palate I get bright red fruits (think cherry) with a hint of pepper and spice.

About the Producer:
For this origin story, we must go back 25 years to find a father and son on an expedition through this very stone heart of Spain, traversing the mountainous shepherds’ trails, searching for the forgotten landscapes of Iberia. This young man was Telmo Rodríguez, and this experience planted the seed for all that was to come for both him and his future winemaking partner, Pablo Eguzkiza, in the following two decades. The idea for what would simply be known as “Compañía” began when Telmo used to spend over ten summers with his father traversing the Cañadas Reales, which crisscross Spain, looking for forgotten vineyards. Originally, the plan was to write a book. Instead of the book coming to life, it inspired Telmo to start his company rescuing historic, neglected vineyards in these remote corners of Spain.
