About the Producer
Azienda Agricola 499 was born thanks to a close friendship and the desire to join forces to create a new and ambitious winery. Gabriele Saffirio and Mario Andrion bring together with fine vineyards of property, skills and many years of experience both in the viticultural and oenological sector and a lot of enthusiasm and passion. The name of the farm originates from the altimetry of the municipality of Camo which stands on one of the highest hills of the Langhe. As a result, all the vineyards of the property are around a height of about 500m above .m.. This is one of the added values of Company 499 which, as a result of global warming, is convinced that the best ripening of the grapes is moving in altimetry (greater height) or latitude (further north). In these conditions a perfect aromatic and phenolic maturation is obtained. Craftsmanship is another added value of 499. The winery strongly believes that the quality of any product is linked to craftsmanship. The craftsman is the one who creates, thanks to his intellectual and manual skills. He has the ideas and has the ability to transform them into something real and tangible. The craftsman knows everything about the entire production process and applies himself in every single operation with the same passion, awareness, meticulousness and precision. He has the knowledge and experience. Respect for nature is another hallmark of 499 both to obtain a better quality of the grapes but mainly to better preserve the territory and deliver it intact to future generations.
